Wu Tang Clan is an American hip hop group from New York City. If you don’t know anything about the Wu Tang Clan, you need to read our Blog.
There are nine members at the beginning of Wu Tang Clan, but we can’t call all nine members as founding members. We can called RZA, GZA and Ol’ Dirty B as the founding members of the Wu Tang Clan. Over time, other members joined with the Clan. We can list the greatest Wu Tang Clan members like this:

1.GZA
One of the founding members and oldest member of the group as well as the most experienced, born on August 22, 1966, and real name is Gary Earl Grice, also known as “The Genius”. He has appeared on his fellow Clan members’ solo projects and has maintained a successful solo career starting with the album named “Liquid Swords” (1995).
2.Ol’ Dirty B
November 15, 1968, born Russell Tyrone Jones is another one of the Wu Tang Clan founding members. Ol’ Dirty B started his solo career in 1995 by releasing his first solo album “Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version”. In 1997, Ol’ Dirty B appeared on the Wu-Tang Clan’s second and most commercially successful work, the double album Wu-Tang Forever. Unfortunately, he died on November 13, 2004, from an accidental drug overdose.
3.RZA
Born on July 5, 1969, RZA is only his stage name and his real name is Robert Fitzgerald Diggs. He has produced almost all of Wu-Tang Clan’s albums, as well as many Wu-Tang solo and affiliate projects. Surprisingly, He is a cousin of two other original Wu-Tang Clan members: GZA and Ol’ Dirty B. He has also released solo albums under the alter-ego Bobby Digital, along with executive producing credits for side projects.
4.Method Man
Method Man was born on March 2, 1971, with the born name Clifford Smith Jr. but Also known as Johnny Blaze. He took his stage name from the 1979 film named “Method Man”. He was The youngest member of the Wu-Tang Clan and the most visible member of the collective. His first released solo album is “Trical” after he released his second album “Trical 2000: Judgement Day” in 1998 and The second album sold better than his first album.
5.Raekwon the Chef
“Raekwon the Chef” real name is Corey Woods born on January 12, 1970, in New York City. His first rap name is “Sha Raider” After joining the Wu Tang Clan he used “Raekwon” as his stage name. His solo album named “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…” released on August 1, 1995. He is the owner and founder of “ICEH20 Records”.
6.Inspectah Deck
July 6, 1970, born Inspectah Deck Real Name is Jason Richard Hunter. Inspectah Deck released his first solo album “Uncontrolled Substance” in 1995. He’s like that dude that’ll sit back and watch you play yourself and all that right? And see you sit there and know you lying; and he’ll take you to court after that, cause he the Inspectah.
7.U-God
November 10, 1970, born Lamont Jody Hawkins is one of the Wu Tang Clan nine members. People better know him by his stage name U-God. He released his first solo album “Golden Arms Redemption” in 1999 and his second album “Mr. Xcitement” was released in 2005. His name comes from “Universal God Allah”. Finally, He started his own label named “Suppa N. Productions”
8.Ghostface Killah
Born name is Dennis David Coles, but everyone knows him by his stage name Ghostface Killah. He was born on May 9, 1970. His first solo album “Ironman” was released in 1996, and it was produced by fellow Wu Tang Clan member RZA. His stage name comes from one of the characters in a film named Mystery of Chessboxing. He is the owner and founder of “Starks Enterprises” label.
9.Masta Killa
American Rapper Masta Killa Born August 18, 1969, in New York with Born Name “Elgin Turner”. His first solo album “No Said Date” was released in 2004. Masta Killa is the last member of the Wu Tang Clan also, Masta Killa was the last member to release a solo project. He chose his rap name from a film named “Shaolin Master Killa”.
